Privacy Policy — Uni GPA Calculator

Uni GPA Calculator is a browser extension that calculates and displays GPA directly on supported university examination results portals. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not handle.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, grades, or other academic information to us or to any third party. It requests no browser permissions.

On the University of Peradeniya portal only, the extension makes one same-origin request to that university's own /Student page — using your existing, already-active login session, the same way the page itself would — solely to read your registered degree programme name, since that determines which GPA-weighting formula applies. That request goes only to the university's own server, the same one you are already using; it is never sent to us or to anyone else.

On Uva Wellassa University and University of Moratuwa, the extension makes no network requests of its own at all.

How It Works

The extension runs a content script only on the specific results-page URLs listed below. When you open one of these pages while already logged into your university account, the script:

• Reads the grade and credit values already displayed in the results table on that page (data you can already see with your own eyes)
• Calculates GPA/SGPA figures from those values
• Displays the calculated figures as additional rows inserted directly into that same table (or immediately alongside it, on pages where the results table manages its own search/sort/pagination)

All of this happens locally, inside your own browser. Nothing is sent to any server — not to the extension developer, not to any third party, and not to the university itself beyond the normal page load that already occurs when you visit the site, plus the one same-origin request described above on the University of Peradeniya portal.

Supported Sites

• exam.uwu.ac.lk — Uva Wellassa University results portal
• lms.uom.lk — University of Moratuwa results portal
• sciims.pdn.ac.lk — University of Peradeniya, Faculty of Science results portal (Final Grades and All Grades pages)

The extension is inactive on every other website.

Local Storage / Session Data

Any "what-if" grade guesses or GPA/Non-GPA classification choices you make while using the extension are held only in the browser's memory for that page view. They are not saved, are not written to disk, and disappear as soon as you refresh or close the page.

The one exception is on the University of Peradeniya portal: your degree-programme selection (General or Honours), and the programme name automatically detected from your own account page, are saved in your browser's local storage for that site so you don't have to re-select them on every visit. This data stays on your own device, is never transmitted anywhere, and can be cleared at any time by clearing this extension's site data for sciims.pdn.ac.lk in your browser settings.

Third Parties

This extension does not integrate with, or share data with, any third-party service, analytics provider, or advertising network.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised and the new version will be published at this same URL.
